FAQS

You’ve Got Questions - We’ve Got Answers

WHAT TRAINING IS REQUIRED?

The advantage of our system is you get to remain an independent agent and work directly with the carriers you already have. In addition, you will have access to new carriers in which to market your accounts. These new markets will have rating training and other operational training so you can get up and running as quickly as possible.

WHEN CAN WE START SUBMITTING?

With many companies you can start writing business the day you sign the contract. Ultimately though, getting your user ID’s and passwords depends on each carrier, how quickly you submit you paperwork to each carrier, and how quickly they are able to respond.

WHAT ABOUT MARKETS THAT AXIS CANNOT PROVIDE?

There are very few markets that we don’t provide. If we don’t provide a value add with a market then we usually will leave that market to the members to access as they wish. In fact, our contract allows agencies to have appointments outside Axis, the exception being carriers who are directly contracted with Axis.

DO YOU HAVE ANY PREMIUM REQUIREMENTS?

There are no minimum premium requirements to become an Axis affiliate. In fact, profit sharing eligibility starts with the first money written with any of our profit sharing companies. We are, however, looking for agents who will grow and be profitable. There are small commitments required to get appointments with the major carriers; the typical commitment is $100,000 within 2 years. Because of this, we have set up the Axis Agency; a non-competing agency where you can place your business with carriers you do not have sufficient volume with to get the direct appointment.

DO WE HAVE TO LIST THAT WE ARE A PART OF AXIS?

Axis does not require a legal name change. We do request that you include in your letterhead, e mail signatures and agency management systems wording” An affiliate of Axis Associated Insurance Brokers”. That request is not primarily to promote AXIS, but to specifically identify you as an Axis partner as the appointments are in Axis’ name.

DOES AXIS HAVE A RETAIL AGENCY OR OWN ANY OF THE AGENCIES?

As mentioned earlier, Axis will maintain and operate a non-competing agency solely for the benefit of Axis Partners and their clients. Axis does not solicit or write business from the general public.
